We’ve built a 70,000 square foot state-of-the-art production facility in Gloucester, MA that leverages custom-built machines, a proprietary brew science, and novel flash-freeze technology that preserves coffee freshness like never before. We are now beginning to scale our business across multiple channels, from direct-to-consumer to office, retail, wholesale, online delivery, and more.

The Role

We are looking for a People Business Partner (our version of an HRBP) to support our vision of creating fulfilling, sustainable careers for our Production associates and an environment where associates can efficiently and safely contribute to Cometeer’s growth.

The Production People Business Partner (PBP) is a strategic partner to the Production organization, both helping to design people policies and processes and serving as the single point of contact for all PSOps questions and issues (outside of recruiting). You will serve on the Production leadership team and become an expert in the dynamics of Production operations. You will also develop high level familiarity with all Cometeer people processes so that you can address or triage issues from Production employees as they arise and help the PSOps team to continuously improve.   

What you’ll do: 

  • Create strong partnerships with the Production Leadership team and establish credibility with the broader Production organization
  • Own Production people metrics and use the data to drive people strategy development 
  • Design and implement Production-specific employee policies 
  • Manage employee relations, leaves, accommodations and performance management for the Production team
  • Partner with the Production Leadership team to develop systems for employee communication and engagement
  • Work with the Production training team, PSOps and IT to continuously improve employee onboarding/offboarding processes
  • Partner with the People team to execute and continuously improve annual reviews and compensation planning

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with manufacturing employee populations
  • Ability to work four days a week from our Gloucester production facility
  • Familiarity with end-to-end people operations, even if you’re not an expert in all domains
  • Embrace nuance and the value of flexibility in the right circumstances
  • High emotional intelligence; empathetic to the needs of a wide range of employees and committed fostering an environment that is inclusive and welcoming to all
  • Understands and actively engages with core business metrics, keeping both business and domain KPIs top of mind and leveraging data to drive decision making
  • Strong voice in the room with senior leadership; able to use influence to drive results, even where formal authority does not exist
  • Clear communicator and able to tailor communication to different audiences
