Where Your Coffee Begins: Inside Our Guatemala Trip
Last month, Meg and Eddie, from our Supply Chain team, went to Guatemala, where we met the farmers and partners behind one of our favorite coffees and saw firsthand how much care goes into every harvest. Read more on the blog to follow the journey from small farms to your cup.
Coffee, Grown in the Clouds: Why Guatemala Hits Different

If coffee had a passport, Guatemala would be one of its most impressive stamps.
Guatemala sits right in the sweet spot for coffee cultivation. Think high elevations, rich volcanic soil, and a climate that feels tailor-made for growing dense, complex coffees. The country’s mountainous terrain creates a range of microclimates, so coffees from neighboring farms can create wildly different profiles and tasting notes..
Most Guatemalan coffees are grown between 1,300 and 2,000 meters above sea level. At these elevations, coffee cherries mature more slowly, which allows sugars to develop more fully. That extra time on the tree translates directly into the cup with brighter acidity, deeper sweetness, and a clarity of flavor that feels dialed in.
Guatemala’s volcanic soil brings structure and balance. You will often taste chocolate, citrus, and warm spice living harmoniously in the same cup. Washed processing is the most popular processing method here, leading to clean, crisp profiles that highlight the bean’s true character.
In short, Guatemalan coffee is a masterclass in balance. It is expressive without being overwhelming, and complex without losing its drinkability.

A Day in the Life at Cometeer
Ever wondered how the sausage gets made? In our case, it is less sausage and more perfectly extracted, flash-frozen coffee, but the curiosity still applies.
This month, we are taking you behind the scenes with Andrew Santos, Packaging Supervisor at Cometeer. From early morning start-ups to the final snap of a finished capsule, Andrew’s day is a front-row seat to the precision and care that goes into every box we ship.
You will see how our team maintains consistency at scale, why details matter at every step, and how we make sure that the coffee you melt at home tastes exactly like it did at peak extraction.
It is part science, part craft, and a lot of obsession.
One Last Sip
