FAQs

It's frozen?

Yes! Our proprietary technology allows flavor and aroma compounds to be extracted with unprecedented precision. Immediately after brewing, we use liquid nitrogen at -321°F to stop the clock on any further chemical or enzymatic reactions and lock in the exceptional freshness and flavor of our coffee. As long as you keep these capsules frozen until used, they will taste fresh-brewed for months and months and months without the use of any preservatives. 

What happens if the capsules melt?

Liquid capsules maintain peak flavor for up to 24 hours at room temperature or 3 days in the refrigerator. That's why Cometeer is great for on the go, and perfect for iced drinks. Capsules can be refrozen if not used immediately. Pro tip: we're TSA approved!

How do I make it?

No machine required. Just add 8 ounces of hot water to a frozen puck. For iced drinks, defrost a capsule and add to 8 ounces of water (or milk of your choice).

How sustainable is it?

We created a curbside-recyclable aluminum capsule, and didn’t stop there — all of our packaging and shipping materials are recyclable. And, because we deal with the grounds on our end — by composting them — the capsules are easy to just drop in the recycling when you’re done with them. We also completely eliminate waste from beans or ground coffee going stale on-shelf and optimize the yield of each bean (so nothing is wasted from poor brewing).
